Dodgers Acquire Tyler Glasnow in Major Trade with Rays

Rays Receive Ryan Pepiot, Jonny DeLuca

Deal Finalized, Glasnow to Join Dodgers Rotation

The Los Angeles Dodgers have finalized a five-year, $136.5 million contract with right-hander Tyler Glasnow, acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays.

In return, the Rays received pitching prospects Ryan Pepiot and Jonny DeLuca, along with $4 million in cash considerations.

Glasnow, a two-time All-Star, joins a formidable Dodgers rotation that already features Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urías, Tony Gonsolin, and Dustin May.

The Dodgers have been aggressive in improving their roster this offseason, previously signing outfielder J.D. Martinez to a one-year deal.

With Glasnow's addition, the Dodgers are considered one of the favorites to win the World Series in 2023.

The Rays, meanwhile, part ways with Glasnow after he posted a 9-11 record and 3.50 ERA in 2022.

Pepiot and DeLuca provide the Rays with young, talented arms to develop in their farm system.

The trade represents a significant shift in the balance of power in the National League, as the Dodgers solidify their status as title contenders while the Rays continue their rebuild.
