Portugal have booked their place in the last 16 of Euro 2024 with a dominant 3-0 victory over Turkey in Group F. Goals from Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, and a Samet Akaydin own goal gave Portugal a comfortable win that also secures their status as group winners.
The win means that Portugal will now face the runners-up from Group E in the next round, while Turkey's hopes of reaching the knockout stages are now over.
Portugal took the lead in the 15th minute when Silva fired home a low shot from the edge of the area. They doubled their advantage just before half-time when Fernandes curled a free-kick into the top corner.
Turkey rarely threatened to get back into the game and their hopes were all but extinguished when Akaydin inadvertently headed the ball into his own net just after the hour mark.
Portugal saw out the remainder of the game comfortably to secure their spot in the next round and will now be looking to build on this performance when they face their next opponents.
